West Ham United are set to ‘make an offer’ to take outgoing Manchester United star Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Hammers are looking forward to another season of European football after finishing seventh in the Premier League standings and it appears, in the meantime, boss David Moyes is seeking a reunion with Lingard.

What’s the latest news involving Lingard?

West Ham have made ‘initial enquiries’ with Lingard’s representatives as he enters the final weeks of Manchester United career.

The creative midfielder’s £75,000-per-week Old Trafford contract is due to expire next month and the Hammers are eager to beat other suitors to his signature.

Roma, AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly keen on Lingard and willing to offer a route out of the Premier League.

Newcastle United, meanwhile, have pulled out of the race due to the 29-year-old’s demands of a £150,000-per-week contract and lucrative signing-on fee.

West Ham, along with Newcastle, attempted to sign Lingard on loan during the January transfer window, but they were unsuccessful in their pursuit.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “They are going to make an offer to Jesse Lingard. They haven’t got around to it just yet, but there is going to be something happening on that front.

“We’ll just have to wait and see what that Lingard proposal is, first of all.”
