West Ham look set for a busy summer after another productive campaign under David Moyes. Dean Jones provides GIVEMESPORT with a must-read guide to the Hammers’ transfer window.

Where could West Ham strengthen this summer?

Primarily at the heart of their defence and then through the spine of the team as a new midfielder and striker are also needed by Moyes. Ideally, the Hammers need more depth, too.

Who could David Moyes sign this summer?

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola’s time could be extended if West Ham can find an agreement with PSG while 32-cap England international Jesse Lingard remains a prime target as he weighs up all his offers over the summer.

Away from those two obvious targets, we should focus on defence and attack.

Armando Broja is one of the leading candidates in terms of signing an all-round centre-forward and the Hammers intend to sound out Chelsea over a possible deal. Eddie Nketiah’s contract is running down and West Ham have touched base so that they can make an offer to the £45,000-a-week ace.

Ollie Watkins has been linked but Aston Villa are expected to price him out of a summer switch. Look out for a move for Lyon’s Moussa Dembele or Blackburn’s Ben Brereton-Diaz, too. The 23-year-old scored 22 times in the Championship for Rovers this season.

In terms of creators, the Hammers have an eye on Championship pair Keane Lewis-Potter from Hull City and Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.

In midfield, Josh Brownhill from Burnley has been on the radar for a year and might join.

Onto the defence and some of the names to keep in mind for this window that West Ham have been pursuing include Nayef Aguerd, James Tarkowski, Nathan Ake and Nikola Milenkovic.

The Irons’ dream signing this summer?

Kalvin Phillips. If West Ham are to add to their midfield and also convince Rice to stay, why not sign his international midfield partner? They tried to sign him for £50million in January and will revisit his situation this summer.

Who’s leaving the London Stadium?

Declan Rice is being priced out of the market yet that situation might change as we get deeper into the window. There is emerging doubt over whether Craig Dawson remains at the club too, despite the 32-year-old’s Europa League heroics this term.

Conor Coventry will have his situation assessed over the summer, following a loan spell at MK Dons.

There are lots of contracts coming to an end including those of Andriy Yarmolenko, Angelo Ogbonna, Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski and David Martin. Mark Noble has waved a tearful goodbye and he will be joined by Yarmelenko and probably Fredericks but the others might yet stay.
