Serge Gnabry transfer price revealed as Arsenal eye potential reunion amid contract concerns

Football.London

Bayern Munich have reportedly set an asking price for winger Serge Gnabry this summer. It comes amid uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, with his contract expiring in 2023.

As a result, Arsenal have been linked with a return for the winger, with Christian Falk reporting that Mikel Arteta is interested in bringing him back to the Emirates. The Spaniard has a huge summer ahead of him in reinforcing his squad too, having narrowly missed out on a return to the Champions League.

A particular issue throughout the season was squad depth, with the manager looking to address that in the transfer window. Discussing plans for the market, he said: “We are going to have certain resources, not unlimited resources, some resources.

“And with our resources we have to play and do what we have to do in the best possible way. We don’t know what the rest are going to have in terms of resources, which I’m assuming is going to be challenging because now it’s not a top three or top four league. Now it is a top eight or 10 teams that are involved. That’s why we have to find a way to do again what we did last summer.”

Amid the upcoming transfer window, a number of players have been linked with a switch to the Emirates. One of those is Gnabry, who was previously at the club until 2016, when he made the move to Werder Bremen.

After only one season with the German club, he moved to Bayern Munich, where he has won 12 trophies since. The 26-year-old only has one-year remaining on his contract in Bavaria though, placing doubt over his immediate future.
