Thomas Tuchel will be given a £200m transfer budget this summer as Todd Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea nears completion, according to reports.

The UK government today announced that it issued a licence that permits the sale of the Blues to Todd Boehly after the Premier League approved the Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner’s takeover.

The report adds ‘factoring in some anticipated player sales, Tuchel is expected to have around £200m at his disposal’ with Chelsea ready to ‘act quickly and decisively’ once the takeover is rubber-stamped.

RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde are ‘near the top of an eight-man list of defensive targets’ with the Blues looking to bring in a couple of centre-backs with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both set to leave the club next month.

Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez are two other possibilities in that position with the Daily Telegraph claiming the pair have been ‘tracked by scouts for a number of years’.
