Leicester City have reportedly explored the possibility of selling midfielder Boubakary Soumare this summer, just one year after he joined the club.
The Foxes beat off plenty of competition to sign the Frenchman from Lille for around £17m last July, where he had helped his side to the Ligue 1 title.
However, the 23-year-old has struggled to make the step up to the Premier League so far, having recorded just 19 league appearances in the 2021-22 campaign, of which only 12 were starts.
Soumare was used more regularly in cup and European competitions throughout the season, but appeared in just two fixtures for Brendan Rodgers‘ side in the final three months.
As a result, Rodgers and Leicester are open to moving Soumare on in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report from LeicestershireLive.
The report suggests that the 2015-16 Premier League champions have grown impatient with Soumare’s failure to settle at the club, as well as his struggles with adapting to the club’s, and the league’s, style.
