Everton want to keep hold of Anthony Gordon, says CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The 21-year-old winger was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer and is reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham right now.

What is the latest news involving Gordon?

According to football.london, Tottenham have been monitoring Gordon, meaning Chelsea could face competition if they go back in for him in January.

The Blues tried to sign the Everton star in the previous transfer window, with Sky Sports one outlet to report that they made a bid for him.

Regarding Spurs, their interest in Gordon is not new. Sky Sports also claimed that they tried to buy the English youngster in a double deal that included Richarlison, who eventually did end up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Gordon continues to be a favourite under manager Frank Lampard, making 14 starts in the Premier League so far this season. “He is a huge player for us,” the Toffees boss told Sky Sports (via The Sun) back in August.

What has Jacobs said about Gordon and Everton?

Jacobs says nothing has changed at Everton; they still want to keep Gordon at Goodison Park.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Everton’s perspective with Gordon remains that they want to keep hold of him, and I think that Chelsea moved on very quickly [during the summer].”

Should Gordon push for a move in January?

All things considered, it may be a good idea for Gordon to stay at Everton for a little bit longer.

The England U21 international, who is valued at around £34m by Transfermarkt, is still very young. If he performs, interest from the likes of Chelsea and Spurs will probably still be there in the future, so there is no rush.

At Everton, Gordon is also getting a lot of minutes. Last season, for example, he made 40 appearances in all competitions. Is he going to get that kind of game time at Stamford Bridge or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? The answer is probably not.
