Welcome to the Liverpool ECHO’s Friday live blog as Everton’s hunt for a new manager appears to be nearing a conclusion, with Sean Dyche set to be named as Frank Lampard’s successor.
It has been a frantic couple of days on the blue half of Merseyside since Lampard was given his marching orders on Monday afternoon. Goodison Park officials held talks with Marcelo Bielsa and Dyche but appear to be set on the former Burnley manager – who could be officially announced on Friday afternoon.
Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon – who has been touted for a mid-season switch to Newcastle – arrived at Finch Farm on Friday morning after missing the last three days of training at the Blues’ Halewood base.
