Nunez sent blunt Uruguay World Cup message

Two former Premier League and international stars have taken opposing views of Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez’s performance in Uruguay’s World Cup opener.

Nunez played out on the left of a three-man attack as Uruguay kicked-off their campaign in Qatar with a 0-0 draw with South Korea on Thursday. One man watching closely for the BBC was ex-Everton defender Ashley Williams, who captained Wales during his playing days.

And although the Liverpool man impressed the former Everton defender, he failed impress former Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal defender Sol Campbell, who like Williams was a decorated international in his playing days.
