Mudryk transfer ‘very close’

Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that Chelsea are close to agreeing a transfer for Mykhaylo Mudryk after a meeting between Blues co-owner Behdad Eghbali and Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov.

The public valuation from Shakhtar appears to have been met by Chelsea, who will pay a £62million fee up front with a further £26million available in add-ons.

Chelsea may have a dilemma over pursuing a move for Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram in the coming weeks as his contract dwindles.

Monchengladbach coach Daniel Farke however, has admitted that he expects the forward to stay at the club in January. The former Norwich City boss said: “If we’re talking about Marcus now, for example, I don’t think there are that many clubs that particularly appeal to him.”

Madueke offer

Chelsea are in talks with PSV Eindhoven over a deal to sign promising young winger Noni Madueke this January, football.london understands.

The 20-year-old is of interest to the Blues as further reinforcements for the forward lines are eyed in the coming weeks.

Madueke seems to be the latest to be pursued for the project, able to add plenty to the current first-team following a number of injuries within it.
