Barcelona warn summer signings agents over need to improve performances

Most of Barcelona’s summer signings have taken the season by storm. Robert Lewandowski leads the goalscoring charts in La Liga, while Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde can claim to be regular starters under Xavi immediately.

One of the few new signings that has not completely clicked at Spotify Camp Nou is Raphina. The Catalans signed him from Leeds United for a gross fee of €65 million in the summer but have not seen enough to warrant him as a success.

According to reports from SPORT, the Blaugranas met with the player’s representative Deco, earlier this week and spoke about the need for the Brazilian to step up in the second half of the season.

The technical staff do not doubt his quality, but the numbers show that his impact on the field has been far from what was expected.

Several Premier League clubs are interested in his signing for June, and Barcelona would be open to selling him if he does not step up in the second half of the season.

However, he will only be allowed to leave if a club pays a sum either equal to or greater than what Barcelona paid Leeds.

Raphinha does not see a departure as a possible option. Succeeding at Barcelona is a non-negotiable in his books, and he will have to work hard if he is to achieve the same.
