Barcelona set to promote youth team winger next season

Barca Universal

While Barcelona are expected to indulge in heavy transfers, they have informed young forward Ez Abde that he will be a part of the first team next season and will have his official number for the same too.

Spanish news outlet Diario SPORT says the message has already been communicated with the player while also mentioning that there is absolutely no chance for him to leave despite the fact that he does, in fact, have a few offers already on the table.

The decision of retaining Abde has been taken after closely studying the situation of a certain Ousmane Dembele, who is most likely to leave for free after failing to reach an agreement with Barcelona.

Unless the player agrees to the lower economic contract, there is little to no chance for him to continue.

Furthermore, with Adama Traore also departing, it will be important for Barcelona to keep hold of Abde even if they somehow manage to sign Raphinha from Leeds United. Moreover, the team also needs to find a solution for a certain Alex Collado.

The young midfielder, who spent the second half of the season at Granada on loan, reportedly has several offers, but Barça’s immediate plan for him is to continue the development with the team.

As for Abde, he made his senior team debut for Barcelona under former manager Ronald Koeman in a 1-1 draw against Alves.

Although he went on to make 12 appearances for the team across all competitions, his presence faded following the extensive business in the January window.
