In recent transfer windows, Barcelona have recruited quite strongly when it comes to young talent in a bid to strengthen the La Masia ranks as well as the Barça Atletic team.
One such player who was signed amidst lofty expectations was Emre Demir. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder arrived at Barcelona from Turkish club Kayserispor this past summer, although a deal had been struck for his signing much earlier.
Demir arrived at the club in an operation worth €2 million. However, according to the latest reports from journalist Albert Roge, Barcelona have told the youngster to find a new club in the ongoing January transfer window.
The youngster had made his debut for Kayserispor at the age of just 15 and had piqued the interest of several top clubs. His potential had thus prompted Barça to make a move for his signing.
The 18-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Catalans upon his arrival, committing himself to the club until 2027.
However, six months into his spell at the club, Demir has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings. The youngster arrived without being able to speak either Spanish or English, which has hindered his adaptation and development.
Of the 18 matches that Barça Atletic have played this term, Demir has featured in just two, taking the field for just 24 minutes in total. Read more – Barca Universal
